Based on Gov. Northam’s stay-at-home directive on 3/30/2020 asking all citizens to stay home and avoid any groups larger than 10 persons, we now anticipate resuming play on June 14th. We will continue to monitor the situation and guidance, and will update this page as new information becomes available.
UPDATED THURSDAY, MARCH 26, 2020
Thank you for your continued support of FXA Sports. Like many small businesses in our area, this will have a drastic impact on our business, our employees, and our field staff, more so than any other time in our 13 years. We are thankful for your support, patience and understanding as we have been working through this historic and unprecedented time and what it means for our community.
As we shared on Monday, we have paused all leagues until April 26th in accordance with the governor’s order to avoid groups greater than 10 for 30 days. Our team has been hard at work to devise our game plan to get everyone playing again once it is safe to do so. We have mapped out that game plan based on different start date scenarios, and would like to share it with you now!
If we are able to begin play the week of:
- April 26 – 6 game season, plus one week of playoffs
- May 3 – 6 game season, no playoffs (first place team is champion)
- May 10 – 4 game season, plus one week of playoffs
- May 17 – 4 game season, no playoffs (first place team is champion)
We anticipate playing games on Mother’s Day and Memorial Day weekend under each of these scenarios. If we are unable to resume play by May 17, then we will move right into summer season once it’s safe to do so (possibly as early as May 31).
What are your options?
We recognize the impact these changes will have on everyone, so we will be offering the following options for team captains and free agents/small groups:
- Remain in the spring league, and receive a credit in your Dashboard (25% of league fee for 6 game seasons, 50% if we play a 4 game season)
- Transfer your registration to the summer league
- Withdraw from spring league , and receive a full credit in your Dashboard
Team players should work with their team captain to determine the team’s selection (credits will be applied to all players who paid team fees; if your captain paid the full amount, then the credit will be applied to their account). Any credits received will be in your Dashboard and can be applied when registering for any future league, and will never expire. Please take a moment to let us know your selected option using the link that applies to you below:
Over the next few weeks, please visit www.fxasports.com/coronavirus for updates and information.
Again, we thank you all for your understanding and continued support, and we look forward to getting back at the field, court, bar, or brewery soon!
